Eating Salmon

I’ve been so busy with work (trying to get a release out the door) and investor meetings that I haven’t been able to run the last two days. It’s very frustrating because I was on such a roll! I’m going running in the morning, and if I feel good I’m going to try to make it a long one.
As for the title of this post, I have always been a person who doesn’t like any kind of seafood - my wife is the same way. As a result, pretty much all of our kids are the same way. But, as I try to be more healthy and as we try to change our diet we keep running into “fish is the best meat you can eat” and we agree.
So, we’re trying to acquire a taste for fish (blech). For dinner tonight, I cooked two wild salmon steaks and cut-up and served one of them to all the kids and ate one myself. I managed to eat it, and overall it didn’t taste too bad. But, the smell in the house and the slight fishy taste of the salmon was pretty repulsive. Anyway, I’m going to be eating Salmon every day for the next two weeks in order to develop a taste for it. Adria took one bite and about gagged. She didn’t eat anymore than that, but she says she’ll have another bite tomorrow. Oh - two of the kids loved it and asked for multiple portions of it, the others hated it - I threatened them with only serving fish for the every meal for the next week - I’m so cruel!!!

Interesting approach to eat it until you like it. Someone told me once that a kid has to try a new taste 300 times before they like it. That was true for me and broccoli, I was 20 years old before I liked it. Happy experimenting!
Hey Amy,
I have some of the most finicky eating kids I’ve ever met - if they have to try something 300 times, it’s no wonder all they want is cereal! As for me, I’ve always loved broccoli - smothered with cheddar cheese and mixed with cauliflower!
